Orange, California; and Brentwood, Tennessee. – UCI Health and Kindred Rehabilitation Services (KRS), a business unit of LifePoint Health, announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to create a joint venture to build and operate a 52-bed, 68,000-square-foot rehabilitation hospital in Orange County.

The hospital will employ up to 200 people and will be located at 17931 Von Karman Ave., in Irvine, California.

UCI Health Rehabilitation Hospital will serve the growing clinical needs of the Orange County region. The hospital will treat patients recovering from conditions such as strokes, traumatic injuries to the brain and spinal cord, as well as patients with trauma, burns, and orthopedics.

State-of-the-art assistance

KRS will manage the hospital’s day-to-day operations and patients will receive state-of-the-art care provided by UCI doctors and clinical staff, all in private rooms and state-of-the-art rehabilitation facilities.

The partners expect construction of the hospital hospital, which is expected to cost approximately $ 80 million, to begin by December 2022 and begin hospitalizing patients at the end of 2025.

It will also serve patients at UCI Health – Irvine, our new medical complex under construction on the UCI campus.
