It’s easy enough to rock my gut. And depending on what I eat, I can get super gassy and experience annoying indigestion. The heart of the matter? they are not entirely sure what my triggers are. While keeping a food diary for a while might help me fix them, I don’t like the idea of ‚Äč‚Äčthinking so hard (or keeping track of every bite that goes into my mouth, TBH) when it comes to eating, I just want to enjoy the food. my meals. This is what made Splendid Spoon’s latest gut-focused box so tempting – send pre-prepared dishes for the benefit of your digestive health, no stomach pain, straight to your door.

Splendid Spoon is a meal delivery service offering delicious plant-based ready-made meals. You can sign up for weekly selections or choose an on-demand box, like the Gut Health Bundle ($ 100), to arrive whenever you need it. Get an on-demand box during a busy week so you have meals on hand, or order one early in the month to freeze so you have bowls to grab whenever you’re in the mood.

The Gut Health Pack includes a selection of five bowls, three smoothies and three wellness shots, by registered dietitian Johane Filemon, MS, RDN.

“Certain foods can improve gut health by supporting good bacteria in the gut, which helps balance the microbiome and replenish gut-healthy nutrients you may have been lacking,” Filemon says. “At the very least, if you have gut health in mind, you have to do the basics. That means, first of all, eating a wide variety of plant-based foods. If you’re already doing this and still feel something is wrong, this is. it could be a good opportunity to perfect your consumption of more foods that are particularly rich in gut-healthy nutrients, like the ones in this box. “

The five bowls that are part of the Gut Health Bundle are a bowl of Kimchi Fried Quinoa, a Bowl of Aloo Gobi Quinoa, Bean and Vegetable Soup, Masala Khiri Soup, and Dan Dan Noodles. You also get three smoothies, and you can choose from: Orange Hibiscus, Blackberry Basil, Carrot Ginger Chia, Dragon Fruit Berry, and Power Greens. Finally, three digestive shots are included, and they contain gut-friendly ingredients like ginger, apple juice, apple cider vinegar, turmeric, and pepper. (Or you can opt for wellness shots, which include ginger, orange juice, lemon juice, and oregano extract.)

“Consuming these digestive-friendly foods will increase your intake of fiber, prebiotics, and many other nutrients needed to feed the good bacteria in the gut, support gut balance, and promote overall health,” Filemon says.

My thoughts on the Splendid Spoon Gut Health package

First things first: I thought every single meal was perfectly portioned and delicious. While I made zhuzh on Dan Dan noodles with a splash of soy sauce and sesame oil, I happily seared all the other bowls completely just as they are. I’m not usually a huge fan of pre-made smoothies (they’re never as thick as freshly made, are they?) But I actually really enjoyed the smoothies in this box. They tasted fresh, delicious and super refreshing. And having those little digestive shots on hand after the meal was a lifesaver – I loved the little spicy kick of the ginger and pepper.

I have chosen to freeze most of my bowls. I love to cook and do it a lot, but when I’m busy or just don’t feel up to it after work, I order takeaway. In these moments, however, I took my Splendid Spoon bowls. I enjoyed having frozen meals ready to go in my freezer that were a steal in quality, far superior to what you might find in the frozen dining section of your grocery store, IMO. They tasted great and made me feel even better.

On this note, as a person suffering from a lot of gas, bloating and general stomach discomfort, I enjoyed having meals lying around that made my digestive system feel sensitive and well balanced after eating. This box didn’t transform my gut health or repair my digestion (five meals and a few smoothies never could!), But each one soothed my stomach aches and tasted delicious. They gave me the assurance that I was eating nutritious food that won’t leave me with a tummy ache. And this is incredibly valuable.

Bottom line? If you want to prioritize gut health without having to think too much, the Splendid Spoon Gut Health Bundle is the perfect option. Get a tasty box of ready-made meals that make you eat right even when you’re short on time.
