Adopt a path
Destin City’s Adopt-A-Street program enables local families, businesses and community groups to perform valuable community service by adopting sections of a road to keep clear of litter and debris. Summer fireworks
Okaloosa Island continues its summer fireworks series. The show starts at 9:00 PM every Wednesday on the Boardwalk, 1450 Miracle Strip Parkway, Fort Walton Beach. The event is held every Wednesday evening until August 10th. The organizers suggest having a dinner and show with a front row view from any of The Boardwalk’s restaurants, or grab a quick snack and stretch out along the beach to watch the fireworks explode from the dock.
Turtle class
Destin-Fort Walton Beach and the Gulfarium CARE Center will host CAREing for Turtles at 5:00 PM on June 8 at Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park, 1010 Miracle Strip Parkway SE, Fort Walton Beach. During this one-hour program ages 8 and up, guests will learn about sea turtle conservation and nesting habits in Northwest Florida. They will take a behind-the-scenes look at the center and meet and get to know current patients. Guests will also conduct a mock assumption of an injured sea turtle, just like a scientist would. Taylor Dayne concert has been rescheduled
The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation (MKAF) has announced that the Taylor Dayne concert, scheduled for Thursday May 26, has been rescheduled for a later date due to bad weather. Due to impending adverse weather conditions and for safety and logistical reasons (setting up / preparations for concerts). The concert is postponed to Thursday 13 October. Tickets will automatically transfer to this new date.

Concert by Frank Sinatra
Josh Sirten will become the sultan of fainting, Frank Sinatra, at 7:30 pm on June 10th at the Emerald Coast Theater Company, Grand Boulevard, Sandestin. He invites you on a nostalgic journey through the musical legacy of the greatest entertainer of the 20th century. Classics include “Strangers in the Night”, “My Way” and “That’s Life”. Summer ballet series
The Northwest Florida Ballet (NFB) will stage Ballet at Twilight and Ballet Under the Stars, two free outdoor community shows at Grand Boulevard and the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation in June.
The first performance is at 7:30 pm on Saturday 18 June at Sandestin’s Grand Park, 495 Grand Blvd., Miramar Beach. The second performance is at 7:30 pm on Saturday 25 June at the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation, 4323 Commons Drive W, Destin.
They will contain excerpts from Katia Garza The beauty and the Beast and classic works such as the Grand Pas de Deux by Don chisciotte performed by Samantha Huebner and Jonathan Carter of the American Repertory Ballet. Spring watersdanced by Iori Araya of Ballet Memphis and Rafael Ferreras of San Antonio Ballet, and NFB soloist Wyatt Mier’s performance of a male variation of Diana and Actaeon will also be presented.
Ballet at Twilight and Ballet Under the Stars will also include contemporary works choreographed by NFB Artistic Director Todd Eric Allen and Lindsey Brewer and Camille Loftis of Butler University. The programs end with the audience’s favorite Jazz Swing, which expresses the joy of classical dance to the rhythm of jazz, choreographed by Fernando Bujones with music by Louis Prima and Eddy Higgins.

Grand Boulevard Farmers Market
The Grand Boulevard Farmers Market is held every Friday and Saturday from 9am to 1pm at Grand Park in the heart of Grand Boulevard in South Walton. Bring your shopping bag and stock up on local produce, eggs, jams and cakes. Homemade soap, good olive oil, and pickled things are all there for you to take.
